This is to put this on public record that a Muslim Indian student was picked up on August 7, 2013, between 11:00-11:30 a.m by people who introduced themselves as immigration/ homeland security officers.
The student, F A Hashme, is originally from India and was in the United States on an F1 visa. He had been taking flying lessons at US Aviation Academy, Denton and had completed about 42-45 hours of flight. he had just recently returned from India (July 2, 2013). Mr Shah lived in an apartment complex on E McKinney street and was arrested for what seems to have been a complaint against him by his flight school. That the arresting officers told his roommate to “not tell anyone about” is both disturbing and frightening.
On August 8 at 12: 33 P.M we contacted the flight school but were unable to get a statement from anyone about Mr. Hashme’s case.
We also talked to his father in India who informed us that his family had not yet heard from him
There are quite a few things to worry about on this:
- Was he really picked up by law enforcement agencies?
- If so, why has he not been allowed to contact anyone?
- And how should his family go about ascertaining as to what actually is happening?
As I stated earlier, we are posting this so that this event is available in the public record. I would also be grateful if any of you could help us find more ways to figure out what is going on. Any suggestions at this point would be welcome.
